Background of the Study
Youth unemployment remains a significant issue in Nigeria, with a large proportion of the youth population struggling to find gainful employment. Entrepreneurship is increasingly seen as a viable solution to this problem, with many youth entrepreneurship programs aimed at equipping young people with the skills and resources needed to start their own businesses. In Zaria Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State, various government and non-governmental organizations have initiated youth entrepreneurship programs to address the unemployment crisis.
These programs are designed to provide young people with training, mentorship, access to finance, and networking opportunities. However, despite the numerous initiatives, the actual impact of these programs on job creation in Zaria has not been adequately assessed. This study will evaluate the effectiveness of youth entrepreneurship programs in Zaria, focusing on their contribution to job creation and the development of sustainable businesses.
